My version of a Scottish Quaich

Well I am continuing on in my journey through woodturning, or is that making shavings (as Captain Eddie would say) Smile

Today I made a Scottish Quaich, an ancient version of a shot glass for older folk Smile

Not a bad job I think, for a first time turner. I started with a 2” x 7” block of Canada’s Maple and turned the basic shape.  The shape I found on the internet on a website of a guy who makes great versions of the wooden cup.  Here is the link to the website  http://www.woodenquaich.com/

I added my own 1 dollar piece to the bottom, in hoping to keep with the tradition of fine quaichs.

A fun project

See you in the workshop!
